Eugene C. Hall, Founder Emeritus of the Kansas City Jazz Orchestra, remains an enduring presence in the legacy of our organization. A gifted jazz musician and arranger, Gene was more than a supporter; he was a true friend whose vision helped shape KCJO into what it is today. His passion for big band jazz, his initiative in preserving this art form, and his unwavering dedication continue to inspire us.
We hold close the memories of gatherings in Linda and Gene’s home, where food, friends, and music filled the air with warmth and joy. His deft arrangements still resonate on our stages, a testament to his artistry and deep love for jazz. Because of Gene’s belief in this music and his commitment to its future, we are able to share it with you, our community and our friends.
